Pinot Noir<br />Sonoma Coast

Our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a blend from our single vineyard wines. Each year, Katy Wilson crafts this barrel selection wine to be enjoyed upon release or cellar for years.

Raspberry // Bing Cherry // Strawberry // Leather // Cardamom

Vineyard Notes

Each year, Katy tastes through all of the wines and selects the barrels that are more fruit forward and expressive for our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The combination of vineyards in this wine changes year to year, but it is always a barrel selection from our single vineyard wines.  This wine is ready to drink when it is young, but it also can age very well.

Winemaking Notes

I make just 500 cases per year, so I have the unique ability to be very detailed in every step of the winemaking process. Throughout aging, I am able to treat every barrel as if it was it’s own unique “lot”. As the wines are aging, I taste each barrel and I am able to choose specific barrels that are ready for racking and leave others on their original lees. This allows the wines to develop very differently. After about 15 months in barrel, I taste through all of the barrels to make my blends. It is amazing how different they all taste after this amount of time. When I am selecting the barrels for the Sonoma Coast, I am choosing barrels that are more fruit forward and open. I bottle this wine after 20 months in barrel.
